Your Travel Kit essentials!

Updated: Oct 20, 2019

You have booked your tickets, made all the hotel reservations, and planned out an itinerary. You are excited and there is this one last thing to do before you leave..packing your bags. Well, not the most exciting part of the trip but certainly the most important. Your clothes are all sorted, you have packed your favorite jacket and your shoes, but there is this one bag that you must and must carry at all times. The travel bag must not be heavy and contain only the essentials. Here is a list of things that your travel bag must contain.

  1. A handy umbrella: You never know how the weather might turn out to be. Keep a travel umbrella which is dark in color so that you can use it if it's too sunny.

  2. A cap/stole: There are several reasons to keep it. To protect from the sun, very light rain, to look cool, a cap goes a long way.

  3. Shades: Shades are a must-have accessory to have in your travel bag. Your eyes might be red after a long tiresome flight but you need to

  4. Lip Balm: Purchase a small lip balm and tuck it in your travel kit. Places with cold climate will dry off your lips and you will need it for sure. It doesn't cost much and it won't add up to your luggage weight.

  5. Moisturizer and sunblock: For the same reason as the lip balm. You do not need to buy a big bottle. Find a small bottle and fill it up with the moisturizer that you use daily.

  6. A rolled-up t-shirt/top, pants, and underpants: Roll these up and place it in the bottom of the bag. Take it out when you are somewhere out and feel the need to change.

  7. Wet wipes and face wash: Washing your face energizes you instantly and makes you feel fresh.

  8. Power bank, earphones, travel adapter, and charger: These three are an absolute must. An international travel adapter is very beneficial. It's a must have item.

  9. A Travel Kit

BONUS: The Travel Kit

Your travel kit is an important piece, you should not just carry it on your own. You should have it in your travel backpack. It is easy to lose a travel kit on your lounge seat, the plane seat pocket, or at your table but a travel bag is noticeable enough to not forget and also to recover. Take out your travel kit whenever you need it. Use it and then put it back in the bag. While we are still talking about it, let me tell you a few essentials that your travel kit must contain.

  1. Passport / Identification Documents: You must carry your passport/identification at all times, even if you feel that you might not need it. While shopping in Japan, we got a tax refund on our purchases by providing our Passports and other countries too have this provision.

  2. Travel Documents: Make a copy of all your reservations and prepare a rough itinerary of your trip. Make sure to print on both sides of the paper. Soft copies are great but your phone battery might die and you might be left stranded. Arrange the copies date wise. Your itinerary goes on the top of the bunch, followed by your tickets sorted by date, followed by your hotel reservations sorted by date, any other reservations that you might have, and at the end keep a copy of your identification and visa. You will need this during immigration and while checking into hotels and flights.

  3. Travel Money: Stash your travel money in your travel kit. You do not need to carry your wallet everywhere. Your travel kit acts as your money bag. This way there will be one single place for you to look for cash.

  4. Emergency Contact and a pen: Make a card that has your name, address, number, and a couple of emergency contact numbers. This will help others identify your kit and some good soul may return it if you lose it.

If you are a member of Tripixo, you get this travel kit before our trip together! Yayy!! For everyone else, you may still pack it yourself and even let us know if we missed something or if you have suggestions at club@tripixo.in
